Jeffro, I know you are not a biologist. But do you know of any evolutionary biologists that has a theory how the unentanglement function of certain enzymes, like for instance Topoisomerases II could have evolved? Here's a very short and super simple explanation on how the problem of entangled DNA strands is solved.

Armageddon Car
by OnTheWayOut inhow many of you bought a nice sedan, suv, or even a minivan back in the days that you described as your "armageddon car" that you would care for and it would last until the end arrived?.
i was driving a 1974 plymouth volare wagon in 1992 when i managed to get an 8-year old buick century.
it was low mileage and had a very luxurious interior.

The time may come when our message takes on a harsher tone, one like a great war cry. We should be ready to adapt our 4 door sedans at the direction of the slave even if their advice doesn't makes sense to us at the time. Here are some ideas.

Jeffro,
Both of these cells types are self-contained units and need all of the various components to survive. How could one compete cell factory change into a completely different cell factory if any of the intermediate changes would cause the cell to immediately die? There are zillions of chicken and egg "problems" like this in biology.
Vastly complicating this problem for atheists are the many molecular machines and enzymes that produce specific multi-step functions... like Topoisomerases.
Topoisomerases are nuclear enzymes that play essential roles in DNA replication, transcription, chromosome segregation, and recombination. This 4 minute video explains:

1963 Resolution Condemning the United Nations
by Sea Breeze inquote from that world wide resolution: .
that, in order to prevent the destruction of the nations by their own means in war, the nations further refused the surrender of their sovereignty to god’s messianic kingdom by setting up a society of nations, which, since 1945, has taken the form and the name of the united nations, with international headquarters at new york city.
this international organization stands for world sovereignty by political men.

it appears to be what is known as, controlled opposition by the WT.
@oncebitten: It seems to be an escape route where you can reject the GB of JW's but keep the whacky early heresies.
As you may know (but most Jws do not) the WT owns IBSA aka Internationial Bible Student Assoc. JUST THAT ALONE is insane- knowing that IBSA in London still sells the writings of Charles Taze Russel; while the ET currently claims to reject his teachings as apostate.
I suppose WT could sue them to stop using the name at anytime but chooses not to do so?
Pretty wild stuff.

Massachusetts JW exile
by oldstory70 ini am way late to the party on this message board but i saw that there were some folks from the new england area who had stories about familiar jws that i grew up with.
my story, as brief as i can tell it, goes like this.. i was born in boston, ma in the early 70s to two my mom and dad who were in their early 20s and woefully unprepared for marriage and raising kids.
dad becomes drunk and violent, mom is bipolar, desperate and high strung and looking anywhere for help.

I'm very sorry to hear about your very unfair story. We don't get to choose our parents. But, we do get to choose what we do with the life they gave us.
The Watchtower wiped out 5 generations of my family. I finally realized that if I were to have ANY relatives in this life, I would have to produce them myself. Once, I accepted this, and with God's blessing, I got busy getting on with the task. I have three sons now.
Sometimes you have to chop the whole family tree down and plant a new one. -

Jehovah's Witnesses Are A Cult . . . Pure & Simple!
by Golden4Altar injehovah's witnesses are a cult .
pure & simple!.
the wickedness we see prevalent today among the jehovah’s witnesses can no doubt be largely attributed to the leadership of the organization, the watchtower society and it's governing body.

This international organization stands for world sovereignty by political men. For years men without faith in God’s kingdom have endeavored to get all people to worship this international image of human political sovereignty as the best hope for earthly peace and security, in fact, the last hope for humanity. To date 111 nations have given worship to this political image by becoming members of it. However, we, as witnesses of the Sovereign God Jehovah, will continue refusing to engage in such idolatrous worship, for we see, under angelic enlightenment, that God has smitten such idolaters with a malignant ulcer, symbolically speaking, that will spell death to them as spiritually diseased image worshipers who worship a man-made political creation rather than the Creator of heaven and earth;

Yet, at few years later, the WT became an official Non-Government Organization (NGO) listed with the United Nations Organization. To be an NGO they had to agree to be in agreement with the UN charter.
I don't understand how this monumental hypocrisy didn't destroy the organization when word got out.Thoughts?
